61 people were arrested Saturday afternoon near the Place de la Nation in Paris. Despite the ban of the prefecture of police, some sixty people, mostly men, gathered at the initiative of the Tawheed group at an event called "the Ummah wakes up. " According to AFP, the
majority of demonstrators were young men aged 20 to 30 years old, bearded and often dressed as Tabligh.
Two Muslim activists who came especially from Belgium and Great Britain were also intercepted one at the border, the other at the exit of Senlis (Oise).
